This afternoon I am once again honored to participate in the design of Clark College’s Literature and Art publication, the 2013 Phoenix.

Phoenix Honors
The 2008 and 2009 editions of Phoenix were awarded the prestigious MOST OUTSTANDING award for all Community College literary and art magazines in the United States with enrollments of more than 2499 students in the annual magazine competition by the American Scholastic Press Association (ASPA). The 2004 and 2006 editions of Phoenix also received First Place with Special Merit honors, and the 2010 edition receiving First Place honors in the ASPA competition.

In addition, the 2006 Phoenix earned second place honors in the Pacific-Western Division of the national Community College Humanities Association’s Literary Magazine Competition. The Community College Humanities Association is the only national organization that exclusively serves to strengthen the humanities in the nation’s community colleges.

Last years Phoenix once again earned First Place with Special Merit honors, continuing a long tradition of excellence.

To honor the event I decided to share with you my original layout for “A Paranormal Romance”,by Pillip Englund, for those of you who wish to sample one of the published entries selected by the literary staff.

Please join me in wishing this years staff and talented entrants good luck!
